Meet Dr. Xavier
Dr. Kathy Xavier was born and raised in Potomac, Maryland, and has called the DMV home her entire life. Dr. Xavier earned her Doctor of Dental Medicine degree from Boston University Henry M. Goldman School of Dental Medicine. During her time there, she was honored with the Excellence in Implantology Award. The award recognized her achievement in the planning, placement, and restoration of dental implants.
Dr. Xavier continued her dental training at the University of Utah, completing an advanced General Practice Residency. During her residency, she gained extensive experience in advanced general dentistry and all aspects of comprehensive patient care, including implantology, oral surgery, and full-mouth rehabilitation. Her training also included significant experience treating medically complex patients in the hospital setting, as well as emergency dentistry and dental trauma.
Dr. Xavier believes that excellent dentistry begins with listening. She strives to create an environment where patients feel heard and genuinely cared for. She believes strongly in the connection between oral health and overall health. She strives to help patients maintain a healthy smile so they can live life to the fullest.
Dr. Xavier is committed to being a lifelong learner, taking advanced courses to stay abreast of new developments in dentistry, and participating in local dental organizations. She looks forward to becoming increasingly involved with the American Dental Association, Academy of General Dentistry, and the field of sports dentistry. She is also excited to continue working alongside the practice’s doctors in caring for athletes and members of the Washington sports community.
Outside of dentistry, Dr. Xavier loves spending time with family and friends, traveling, cooking, discovering new restaurants, and learning about different cultures. She is an avid sports fan and enjoys working out, hiking, and enjoying the sun.
After spending many years away from home pursuing her higher education, Dr. Xavier is excited to return home to the DMV and build a career in the community that has always felt like home. Above all, Dr. Xavier hopes to make every patient’s visit a little lighter.
