Update 3/29/20 from LenzSullivan Dentistry regarding the Coronavirus (Covid-19)

In order to comply with the CDC, Federal and Local recommendations and mandates, our offices will be closed to all non-emergency care of our patients through the month of April. We remain hopeful that these measures can play a role in limiting the spread of Covid-19.

Dentists are in one of the highest risk categories for transmission and contraction of the Coronavirus, with many routine dental procedures having the potential to transmit the virus via aerosolization of fluids. The Doctors and Staff at LenzSullivan Dentistry fully support these measures and we will be closing our offices in both Virginia and Washington, D.C. through April for all non-emergency patient visits.  Patients with appointments in our system during this period will be contacted by someone from our office in the coming days or weeks to get their appointments rescheduled.

Taking responsible action is the best thing we can do at this time for our patients, for our office teams and for our area’s healthcare system.

Again, LenzSullivan Dentistry will be closing our offices in both Virginia and Washington, D.C. through April 30th for all non-emergency patient visits.

If you have a dental emergency, please call our office. If someone does not personally answer the phone, then please listen carefully and follow the directions given in order to reach someone on our staff. Furthermore, Non-Emergency messages can also be left on the office line. We will have staff monitoring the office phone messages periodically throughout the day for the non-emergency messages.

Please note, we are looking into establishing teledentistry capabilities for our office so that some patient issues can be consulted on with us via secure private video appointments during the time we are being asked to close for routine patient visits. We will post additional information on this once we have it set up.

Statement from the office of Drs. Lenz, Sullivan and Kim regarding the Coronavirus (Covid-19)

As more cases of Coronavirus (COVID-19) develop in the U.S. and in this area, we are closely monitoring the situation and taking actions to safeguard our patients and staff. We are closely monitoring the specific guidance from the Centers for Disease Control (CDC), the American Dental Association (ADA) and other federal, state and local guidelines, and taking steps to maintain a safe environment.

Our office has always followed the CDC guidelines for infection control in a dental healthcare setting.

Below are some of the additional procedures we have put in place:

  • We are encouraging both clinical and non-clinical staff to wash their hands with soap and water or use hand sanitizer frequently even when working in non-patient treatment areas.
  • Hand sanitizer is being placed on the reception area counters for patients use.
  • We have instructed staff to stay home and not report to work if they are exhibiting any signs of being sick or have come in contact with someone who is sick, or if they have recently travelled to an area of high infection levels.
  • Patients with flu-like symptoms, fever, coughing, shortness of breath are being asked to reschedule any non-emergency appointments. According to the CDC, symptoms of COVID-19 include fever, coughing and shortness of breath
  • We are adding additional frequency of wiping and sanitizing all doorknobs, handles, railings and other high contact surfaces throughout the office multiple times a day, including entry points to our suite from common areas of the building.

We will continue to closely monitor all changes in CDC, ADA and federal, state and local health guidelines as they relate to the Coronavirus (Covid-19) pandemic and provide an updated statement when necessary.
